Culinary Arts Commission launches vocational training to boost Saudization

The Culinary Arts Commission has launched a vocational training program in culinary arts aimed at preparing and empowering Saudi talent to join the culinary sector workforce. The program offers training tracks focused on professional readiness and the development of technical and behavioral skills, tailored to the needs of employers.

This initiative supports Saudization goals by equipping qualified Saudi professionals for roles in the culinary sector. It targets individuals seeking to start successful careers, enhancing their job readiness through hands-on training and connecting them with relevant employers.

Four specialized training tracks

The program features four training tracks. The first, food production, equips participants with skills in preparing and cooking food in professional environments. The food and beverage services track develops service and customer interaction skills according to hospitality standards.

The program also includes a specialty coffee track, providing trainees with expertise in coffee preparation and café operations, emphasizing quality and service fundamentals. Additionally, the bakery and pastry track focuses on essential skills for preparing baked goods and desserts, with attention to quality, precision, and safety standards.

Registration requirements and application process

The Commission stated that the program is delivered in partnership with accredited and specialized training entities, including the Restaurant and Café Owners Association and Caterion in Jeddah.

The program is open to Saudi citizens interested in culinary careers who wish to enroll in vocational training. Applicants must be Saudi nationals, at least 18 years old, and meet all registration requirements and documentation. Attendance and passing assessments are mandatory. Registration is available through the program’s online platform by completing the application form and submitting the required information and documents.
