Yasmeen Alshafai joins Saudi dubbing cast for Disney’s Toy Story 5

In a first for the region, Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 5 premiered on Disney+ with a Saudi dialect dub on October 6, 2026, marking the first Walt Disney film to receive such treatment. Saudi content creator Yasmeen Alshafai was among eight local creators who took part, lending her voice to the Nerf blaster character.

The project marks a new milestone for Saudi content in global entertainment, allowing Saudi audiences to hear beloved characters in their own dialect and voiced by fellow Saudis. The cast includes Saudi actors such as Ibrahim Khairallah as Buzz Lightyear, Suhaib Qudsi as Woody, and Reem Alhabib as Jessie, alongside creators Mohammed Salem, Khawla Alsaif, Abdulaziz Khoja, Hadi Alkhudairi, Adel Radwan, Abdulaziz Aldulaijan, Mohammed Shamsi, and Yasmeen Alshafai.

For Yasmeen, the role was a natural extension of her work. Known for playing multiple characters—mothers and children alike—in her short videos, she seamlessly shifts between voices, expressions, and comedic timing. This versatility made her transition to dubbing a fitting next step in her career.

It follows her win of the Silver Award in the Lifestyle category at the TikTok Awards 2026 and her recognition as the first Saudi to be featured on the TikTok Discover List 2026.
