GCC welcomes UN statement denouncing Houthi attacks

GCC (The Gulf Cooperation Council) Secretary General Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf welcomed the press statement issued by the UN Security Council on Friday; denouncing attacks launched by the Houthi militias against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The UN statement also called on immediate stop of Houthi escalation in Yemeni governorate of Marib; condemning recruiting children in the Houthi offensive on it.

Dr. Al-Hajraf expressed GCC support of the UN Security Council's call to cease-fire; in accordance with the resolutions 2532 and 2565, all over the world, including Yemen. Besides, its call to facilitate delivery of humane assistance and distribution of COVID-19 vaccines; in all parts of the fraternal Yemen.

In Tunisia, the General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers strongly condemned and denounced the Iran-backed terrorist Houthi militia's attack on Riyadh oil refinery by drones.

The General Secretariat stressed in a statement issued here its condemnation in the strongest terms; following the cowardly terrorist acts committed by these militias against vital and civilian installations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Absolute support

The attacks represent a flagrant violation of all international laws and norms; war crimes accountable and stopped. Besides, overwhelming evidence of the deliberate endeavors of these militias; and those behind them to threaten the global energy sources and undermine the security and stability of the Arab region. In addition to undermining all peace efforts sought by the countries and peoples of the region.

The General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers also renewed its absolute support for all measures and steps; being taken and implemented by the Kingdom to ensure the security and safety of its facilities, citizens and residents on its territory.

In Doha, Qatar condemned in the strongest terms the assault on the oil refinery in Riyadh. In a statement today, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs considered that targeting vital installations and facilities is a sabotage act that violates all international norms and laws, and would affect the security and stability of energy supplies in the world.

It renewed the firm position of the State of Qatar in rejecting violence; criminal and sabotage acts; regardless of the motives and reasons.

Targeting civilian objects

Meanwhile, the Muslim World League (MWL), in the name of its international councils and bodies, condemned the terrorist attack carried out by drones on the oil refinery in Riyadh.

In a statement issued by its Secretary General Dr. Mohammad Bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa the MWL affirmed that these terrorist acts that are repeatedly being committed against vital installations and facilities. Besides, civilian objects violate all international norms and laws. In addition to affecting the security and stability of energy supplies and the global economy.

In the name of the scholars and peoples of the Islamic world under its umbrella; the League also renewed its solidarity and full support for Saudi Arabia in the measures it is taking and adopting in the face of "these terrorist acts and those behind them" to protect its people, the integrity of its territories, and ensure the security and stability of global energy supplies.
