Egypt hosts Arab Environment Ministers Council’s 31st session

The Council of Arab Environment Ministers, chaired by Libya and with the participation of Ministers of Member States and the General Secretariat of the Arab League, kicked off its 31st session today in Cairo.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's delegation was headed by Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Engineer Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadhli.

The session discusses the implementation of the resolutions of Arab Economic and Social Development Summits, especially those related to monitoring of radioactive pollution and integrated waste management in the Arab Region, and following up the implementation of the environmental dimension of the sustainable development goals, in addition to the preparation and follow-up to the sessions of the United Nations Environment Assembly, the drafting of the Arab position on the International Covenant on Environment, and the study of indicators of the environment and sustainable development.
