Conclusion of Emergency Meeting of Arab League on Turkish Offensive on Syria

The Arab League (AL)council concluded here today its emergency meeting, at the level of Arabforeign ministers, which discussed the Turkish aggression on Syria. The meetingwas held upon a request from Egypt, with participation of the foreign ministersof the Arab states and the Secretary General of the AL Ahmed Aboul Gheit.

The Kingdom of SaudiArabia's delegation to the meeting was headed by Minister of State for ForeignAffairs and Member of the Cabinet Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir. Arab foreignministers participating in the meeting expressed condemnation of the Turkishmilitary operations, as it represents a violation of the sovereignty of Syriaand poses a threat to regional peace and security, calling on Turkey for animmediate and complete cessation of all military operations, and to withdrawits forces from the Syrian soils, holding it fully responsible for thehumanitarian and security consequences, that may result from this seriousaggression.

On the other hand,Al-Jubeir participated also, in a consultative meeting that included the headsEgypt, Iraq, the Kingdom of Bahrain, Jordan and the United Arab Emiratesdelegations, participating in the emergency ministerial meeting, to discuss theTurkish aggression on Syria.
