Saudi Transport Authority partners with engineers body to boost road code compliance

The General Authority for Roads has announced that its strategic partnership with the Saudi Council of Engineers aims to strengthen compliance with the Saudi Road Code and support the implementation of its technical standards in all road projects across the Kingdom, as part of efforts to raise quality and safety benchmarks in line with global best practices.

The authority noted that the partnership will focus on organizing regular workshops to introduce the requirements of the Saudi Road Code and mechanisms for measuring compliance, in addition to increasing awareness among engineering offices about the approved code standards and specifications.

It added that the cooperation also includes joint coordination with relevant entities to promote the application of the code, contributing to the highest levels of performance and quality in road infrastructure.

The General Authority for Roads also reaffirmed its commitment to ongoing collaboration with its strategic partners, foremost among them the Saudi Council of Engineers, to ensure comprehensive and effective implementation of the Saudi Road Code. This supports the objectives of the Road Sector Program, which focuses on quality, safety, and equipping the road network with traffic safety measures in accordance with the International Road Assessment Programme (IRAP) classification.
