Jeddah Islamic Port boosts trade with new IRF shipping service

The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has announced the addition of the IRF shipping service, operated by global company PIL, to Jeddah Islamic Port. The move aims to strengthen the port’s capabilities and support trade between Saudi Arabia and regional and international markets.

According to the authority, the new service will connect Jeddah Islamic Port with the ports of Sokhna and Safaga in Egypt, with a capacity of up to 1,261 TEUs. This initiative is part of Mawani’s efforts to improve Saudi Arabia’s ranking in global performance indicators and boost national exports.

The authority added that introducing the new service reflects the appeal of Saudi ports to global shipping lines and further establishes Jeddah Islamic Port as a key hub for maritime connectivity and shipping services on the Red Sea. This is expected to expand trade routes and support the growth of maritime activity in the region.
