Saudi business confidence index records 56.6 points in September 2026

Saudi Arabia’s business confidence index stood at 56.6 points in September 2026, maintaining an optimistic outlook despite a slight decline of 0.1 points from August’s 56.7, according to a report by the General Authority for Statistics.

The report noted that optimism persists in the business sector, supported by companies’ confidence in the stability of economic activity and continued growth across various sectors.

Performance of economic sectors

In the industrial sector, the business confidence index rose to 56.3 points in September, up by 0.5 points from August’s 55.8. The report attributed this increase to improved confidence in overall performance and expected sales for the coming month.

In the construction sector, the index recorded 57.1 points, compared to 57.3 in August, marking a decrease of 0.2 points, though optimism among sector companies remained. The report linked this decline to lower confidence in input costs for the current and upcoming month.

For the services sector, the index reached 55.4 points, maintaining an optimistic level despite a drop of 0.7 points from August’s 56.1. The report cited reduced confidence, particularly regarding input costs for the current and next month, as the reason for this decrease.

Monthly index changes

According to the general business confidence index table, the monthly change rate for September showed a decrease of 0.2 percent, compared to a 0.3 percent increase in August.
