Saudi platform seeks public input on 46 economic and development projects

Saudi Arabia’s unified electronic consultation platform (Istitlaa), operated by the National Competitiveness Center, has launched 46 projects related to economic and development affairs. The initiative, conducted in cooperation with 15 government agencies, aims to enable stakeholders to submit their views and suggestions before the projects are approved.

Among the projects is a proposal from the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing to remove streetlight poles obstructing residential entrances. The project seeks to eliminate obstacles affecting access to homes, ensuring safety and ease of entry while maintaining the efficiency of the public lighting network in accordance with technical standards. Public consultation on this project will close on August 18, 2026.

The General Authority of Civil Aviation has also introduced a project to amend the economic regulations for ground handling and air cargo services. The aim is to establish a unified regulatory framework for service providers at airports, specifically organizing aircraft maintenance activities. Feedback on this project will be accepted until August 19, 2026.

Additionally, the Saudi Food and Drug Authority has launched a draft guideline outlining general considerations for submitting preclinical studies for veterinary vaccines. The guideline clarifies the requirements and necessary data for applications, in line with approved standards. The consultation period for this project ends on August 21, 2026.

The launch of these draft regulations and related projects via the Istitlaa platform underscores efforts to enhance transparency in the legislative environment, promote a culture of consultation among the public, government bodies, and the private sector, and involve them in shaping business-related initiatives.
