The transportation and logistics sector in Madinah Region has experienced steady growth over the past five years, driven by rising demand from an increasing number of visitors and major developments in road and transport infrastructure.
According to a report issued by Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah Chamber, commercial registrations in the transport and storage sector rose from 970 in 2019 to 2,817 by the end of 2024—a cumulative increase of 190%, with an average annual growth rate of 38%.
This surge reflects the sector’s response to the expansion of Hajj and Umrah-related services and continued growth in visitor numbers, leading to higher demand for transport and storage solutions.
As a result, more companies have entered the market, offering services such as group transport, taxi operations, and smart mobility platforms.
The report highlights investment opportunities in building storage facilities near Madinah to support e-commerce and accelerate delivery services.
It also notes potential in launching premium transport services for tourists and Umrah performers, as well as innovative models such as self-driving vehicles in the central area.
