Tabuk beekeepers begin production of premium acacia honey

Beekeepers in the Tabuk region have begun the season for producing and extracting acacia honey, which is found across the area's plains and valleys. Tabuk is considered one of the Kingdom’s most important natural pastures for high-quality honey production.

The region is renowned for its dense acacia trees, which yield some of the finest honey in Saudi Arabia. So far, total acacia honey production has exceeded 35 tons, with extraction continuing throughout the season.

Amjad bin Abdullah Thalab, Director General of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture’s Tabuk branch, said the region’s unique natural features have helped develop the beekeeping and honey production sector. He noted that the ministry supports beekeepers through the Sustainable Rural Development Program (Reef), which aims to boost production efficiency, improve product quality, and enhance the sector’s economic sustainability.

He added that the number of beekeepers in the region is rising, contributing to increased production and improved honey quality, thanks to Tabuk’s diverse plant life and favorable environment for beekeeping.
