Jeddah Islamic Port adds ONE’s RC2 shipping service

The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has announced the addition of the RC2 shipping service, operated by Ocean Network Express (ONE), to Jeddah Islamic Port. This move is expected to strengthen maritime connectivity between Saudi Arabia and global markets, further enhancing the port’s competitive edge and operational efficiency.

According to a statement from Mawani on its official X platform account, the new shipping service will link Jeddah Islamic Port with the ports of Shanghai, Ningbo, and Nansha in China, Aqaba in Jordan, and Sokhna in Egypt. The service has a capacity of up to 1,643 TEUs. This initiative is part of Mawani’s efforts to improve Saudi Arabia’s ranking in global performance indicators and support national exports, in line with the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy to establish the Kingdom as a global logistics hub and a key link between three continents.

The introduction of the new service will further strengthen Saudi Arabia’s presence on the international maritime transport map and demonstrates the advanced infrastructure and readiness of Jeddah Islamic Port to accommodate additional shipping services, thanks to its operational efficiency and high handling capacity.

Jeddah Islamic Port is a major logistics and commercial center on the Red Sea coast, covering an area of 12.5 square kilometers and featuring 62 berths. The port is equipped with several specialized terminals and advanced facilities, as well as a range of marine service berths for towing and pilotage, and fully equipped halls for receiving pilgrims, Umrah performers, and visitors.
