Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 serves as a primary catalyst for the rapid expansion of technology in the Kingdom, making artificial intelligence a key enabler of economic and social transformation, innovation, and sustainable growth.

By investing in digital infrastructure, developing human capital, and launching qualitative programs and initiatives, the Kingdom is building an integrated AI ecosystem that raises the efficiency of government work, supports economic diversification, and enhances its competitiveness on a global level.

AI as a Strategic Pillar in Vision 2030’s Evolution
Since the launch of Saudi Vision 2030 in 2016, AI in the Kingdom has evolved from enabling digital transformation to a strategic pillar, supporting economic development and accelerating modernization across sectors.

Over time, AI has become a central element in the path of national progress, reflecting the maturity of the Saudi approach toward building a knowledge-based economy driven by advanced technologies.

Through the National Strategy for Data and AI (NSDAI), Saudi Arabia has enhanced the integration of smart technologies into several vital sectors, including energy, infrastructure, urban development, and government services.

The impact is evident in supporting smart cities, developing public services, and leveraging data to improve the quality of life and raise the efficiency of government procedures. The Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence (SDAIA) leads by developing regulatory frameworks, enhancing governance, and establishing standards and practices that support the responsible use of advanced technologies.

In this context, SDAIA distinguished itself as the first entity in the world to obtain the ISO 42001:2023 certification, the international standard for AI management systems.

This reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to building an ambitious and responsible ecosystem in this field.

By aligning its national strategies with international standards, the Kingdom continues to develop its national AI model, confirming that its approach based on digital transformation and technology investment represents a sustainable path toward a more diversified and competitive economy.
