The Digital Regulatory Academy, part of the Communications, Space and Technology Commission, organized a training program on data governance and privacy in partnership with the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) and Access Partnerships in Riyadh.

The two-day program brought together more than 40 specialists in digital regulation and policy, along with representatives from 18 regulatory bodies.

The sessions highlighted the importance of regulations in protecting data and supporting privacy, reviewed the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and discussed artificial intelligence regulation and its applications, as well as implementation and compliance requirements.

Building digital capabilities

The academy stated that the program is part of its initiatives to enhance the skills of professionals in public policy and digital regulation, and to raise regulatory awareness in the community.

Since its establishment in 2021, the academy has delivered numerous training programs, with more than 900 participants from both the public and private sectors expected to benefit by the end of 2025.
