The Prince Mohammed bin Salman Project for the Development of Historical Mosques has completed the restoration of the Sadreed Mosque in Al-Namas, Aseer Region.
Dating back to 170 AH (786 AD) during the reign of Abbasid Caliph Harun al-Rashid, this 138-square-meter landmark is one of the region's oldest religious sites.
The project carefully preserved its authentic Aseer architectural identity, which features stone and mud walls and a roof crafted from local juniper trunks.
Historically the only Friday prayer mosque in the area, its restoration ensures it remains a beacon of worship and a cultural center.
By utilizing specialized Saudi engineers and sustainable heritage standards, the initiative aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 to protect the Kingdom's civilizational roots while preparing historical sites for modern-day worshippers.
