Lucid Group, the advanced electric vehicle manufacturer, has announced its financial results for the second quarter of 2026, unveiling a comprehensive transformation plan aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and achieving $1.4 billion in cash savings during 2026. The plan also involves renewed focus on liquidity, customers and quality, corporate culture, and the workforce.

The company, listed on Nasdaq under the symbol LCID, stated that its new priorities include four strategic projects as top resource and capital allocation priorities, along with a streamlined organizational structure that halves the number of direct reports to the CEO and strengthens accountability.

Strong financial and operational results

Lucid produced 4,774 vehicles in the second quarter, marking a 24% year-on-year increase, while deliberately reducing production to align inventory with demand and preserve liquidity. The company delivered 3,953 vehicles, up 19% year-on-year, and posted revenues of $405 million, a 56% increase over the same period last year. Lucid ended the quarter with total liquidity of $3.0 billion.

Lucid also confirmed it recently secured additional funding and continues to implement operational measures to ensure sufficient liquidity to meet its needs through 2027.

Strategic transformation pillars

Lucid is refocusing its efforts on three main pillars: liquidity and costs, customers and quality, and corporate culture and workforce. The company plans to adopt a more disciplined approach to spending and investment, while safeguarding core programs and technologies and improving working capital.

On the customer and quality front, Lucid is working to enhance the ownership experience and reduce wait times by a third this year, in addition to investing in technical staff. Regarding corporate culture, the organizational structure has been simplified and experienced leaders appointed to key positions to accelerate decision-making and boost performance.

Strategic projects and top priorities

Lucid has identified four strategic projects: a plan to generate $1.4 billion in liquidity, a robotaxi program in partnership with Uber and Nuro, the AMP-2 manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia which has entered the production phase, and the mid-size vehicle program, which continues to advance through validation and production readiness stages.

The robotaxi program has begun production validation, with Lucid Gravity vehicles delivered to Nuro, while Atlas drive unit prototypes are undergoing advanced testing as part of the mid-size vehicle program.

Management statements

Lucid CEO Silvio Napoli emphasized that the company possesses leading technologies, outstanding products, and a dedicated team, stressing the importance of returning to fundamentals and focusing on liquidity, customers, and corporate culture to achieve performance targets and build a solid foundation for future growth.

Meanwhile, Lucid Chairman Turki Alnwaisir expressed the board's full support for the new executive management initiatives, affirming that the current measures aim to strengthen the company's execution capabilities and deliver long-term value for customers and shareholders.
