The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing announced operational readiness for the 1447 AH Hajj season through an integrated field and service ecosystem in the holy sites supported by more than 22,000 field personnel serving pilgrims around the clock.
The ministry stated that the operational ecosystem is supported by extensive infrastructure and continuous operational mechanisms aimed at enhancing the quality of services provided to pilgrims and improving the efficiency of health and environmental monitoring and response during the Hajj season.
According to the ministry, infrastructure facilities in the holy sites cover more than 4.6 million square meters, including roads, lighting networks, bridges, tunnels, and flood channels. A total of 20 bridges and 18 tunnels contribute to supporting traffic flow and facilitating pilgrims’ movement between different locations.
In the field of hygiene and environmental sanitation, the ministry activated more than 88,000 cleaning units supported by 3,000 field vehicles and pieces of equipment, in addition to 1,235 compactor units and 113 underground storage facilities supporting operational processes.
These efforts enhance waste-management efficiency and help maintain a healthy environment within the holy sites.
The ministry affirmed that the efforts are part of an integrated municipal and operational service system aimed at improving pilgrims’ experience and achieving the highest standards of safety, public health, and quality of life in the holy sites during the Hajj season.
