The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has announced that the first ship carrying pilgrims from the Republic of Sudan has arrived at the Jeddah Islamic Port.

According to the authority, the Jeddah Islamic Port offers a wide range of specialized logistics services, which facilitates the pilgrims’ travel procedures, as well as the transit of goods to the local markets during the Hajj season.

The authority said maritime services and facilities play an important role in ensuring the safe and easy passage of the pilgrims. They include a maritime control tower, maritime guidance, tug boats, passenger arrival and departure lounges, and a dedicated quay for livestock.

Work at these facilities is carried out by qualified Saudis, and this is reflected in the efficiency with which big numbers of pilgrims are received and offered the best services.
