

The Holy Makkah Municipality has completed its field operations to boost the readiness of the road network and public facilities for 1447 AH Hajj season, through comprehensive operation and maintenance programs aimed at enhancing infrastructure efficiency and improving the urban landscape in Makkah and the holy sites.
The municipality carried out an extensive package of rehabilitation and development works, including 45,800 square meters of asphalt works, 1,806 square meters of interlocking works, 2,829 square meters of concrete surface maintenance, and 6,453 square meters of tunnel washing and cleaning.
The municipality completed maintenance of 1,940 lighting poles and 72 restrooms, alongside environmental improvement works including planting 13,500 square meters of natural turf, 1,740 trees, and 1,500 flowering seedlings.
It also opened new roads and utilized completed sections of development projects, contributing to improved traffic flow and reducing pressure on vital routes during the season.
The municipality confirmed its commitment to continuing development works to raise infrastructure efficiency and improve road quality, ensuring safer and smoother roads and enhancing pilgrims' experience during Hajj.
