New shipping service between Jeddah and China to boost supply chain efficiency, expert says

Engineering consultant Saud Al-Dalbahi praised the announcement by the Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) of a new shipping service between Jeddah and China.

Speaking in an interview with Al-Ikhbariya Radio, Al-Dalbahi said the move is part of Saudi Arabia’s efforts to expand connections with Chinese ports and enhance the efficiency of supply chains.

He added that the Kingdom has become a global logistics hub, and this new service with China—Saudi Arabia’s largest trading partner—will increase the number of direct shipping lines, boost capacity, improve voyage scheduling, and provide Saudi companies with more options to access Chinese markets.

Earlier, the Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) announced the addition of the "China Saudi Express" shipping service to Jeddah Islamic Port, aiming to strengthen the port’s competitiveness on the global maritime map, support the smooth flow of international trade, and improve operational efficiency, further establishing Saudi Arabia as a leading regional and global logistics center.

The authority and all relevant entities are focused on enhancing these services by leveraging the Kingdom’s strategic location at the crossroads of Asia, Africa, and Europe, enabling greater movement within supply chains.
