Jeddah Airports announces phased opening of Terminal 4 at King Abdulaziz International

Jeddah Airports Company has announced the phased opening of Terminal 4 at King Abdulaziz International Airport, starting Sunday, September 27, 2026, corresponding to 16 Rabi Al-Akhir 1448, as part of its plans to upgrade airport facilities and accommodate growing travel demand.

The company stated that on Sunday, three international airlines—Wizz Air, AJet, and SalamAir—will move their flights to Terminal 4, with other airlines to follow gradually according to the transition plan for the terminal.

Jeddah Airports explained that the reopening plan aims to transfer all foreign airlines currently operating in the North Terminal, as well as some foreign carriers from Terminal 1 and the Hajj and Umrah Halls complex as needed, to help redistribute operations across the airport, boost capacity, and streamline travel procedures after Terminal 4 and its operational, technical, and service systems are fully ready.

The company confirmed that the phased transition will continue throughout the coming week: on Monday, September 28, Fly Jinnah flights will move from the Hajj and Umrah Halls complex (B3), and Nesma Airlines flights will move from the North Terminal. On Tuesday, September 29, Akasa Air flights will transfer from the Hajj and Umrah Halls complex (B3) to Terminal 4.

On Thursday, October 1, SyrianAir and Pegasus flights will move from the North Terminal to Terminal 4, and on Saturday, October 3, Azerbaijan Airlines and Tunisair flights will also transfer from the North Terminal, with further transitions to follow according to the approved operational plan.

Terminal 4 covers a total area of 97,000 square meters and has an annual capacity of up to 15 million passengers. It features advanced operational systems and modern facilities, including a dedicated area for group check-in for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims, which will enhance the airport’s efficiency and capacity. In 2025, the airport recorded its highest operational figure, handling 53.4 million passengers.

The launch of Terminal 4 is part of Jeddah Airports Company’s ongoing efforts to develop the infrastructure of King Abdulaziz International Airport and improve its readiness and operational efficiency, supporting its ability to meet rising travel demand and contributing to the goals of the aviation program under the National Transport and Logistics Strategy and Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to serve over 90 million passengers annually through the airport by 2030.
