Jazan Region continues to strengthen its position as a key agricultural hub in the Kingdom, supported by its diverse climate and environment. This diversity has contributed to a wide range of crops and an integrated production base linked to the region’s food heritage.

Bananas stand out as one of the region’s most important crops, supporting farmers’ income and enhancing agricultural sustainability.

During a field tour, farm owner Zuleikha Al-Kaabi shared her experience since launching her project in 2019. She began with a limited number of seedlings before expanding her farm to more than 500,000 square meters, with around 100,000 banana trees.

Production started in 2020, with output averaging between 12 and 13 refrigerated truckloads, exceeding 20 tons.

The farm produces red bananas, the Grand Nain variety, and limited quantities of blue bananas.

Banana cultivation in Jazan reflects the integration of natural resources and farming expertise, supporting the local economy and aligning with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
