Saudi Ministry of Industry opens applications for Ma’aden employment-linked scholarship program

The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources has announced the opening of registration for the employment-linked scholarship program at Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Ma’aden), as part of the 'Waed' track under the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Scholarship Program, aimed at developing national talent in mining and mineral industries and boosting the sector’s competitiveness.

Ministry spokesperson Jarrah bin Mohammed Al-Jarrah explained that the program targets male and female students for bachelor’s degrees at leading global universities, including the Colorado School of Mines in the United States and the University of New South Wales in Australia, in specialized academic mining programs.

Al-Jarrah noted that registration will be open from July 19 to August 2, 2026, covering majors such as mining engineering, geological engineering, geophysical engineering, metallurgical engineering, and electrical engineering at the Colorado School of Mines, as well as geological energy and subsurface storage engineering, robotics and mechatronics engineering, and environmental engineering at the University of New South Wales.

He added that the program helps prepare specialized national cadres with the skills and knowledge needed to work with the latest mining technologies, improve operational efficiency at mining facilities, and enhance local content and localization, supporting Saudi Vision 2030’s goal of making mining the third pillar of national industry and a key driver of economic diversification.

The employment-linked scholarship program at Ma’aden is part of the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources’ ongoing efforts to develop and qualify national talent in the industrial and mining sectors, in cooperation with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Scholarship Program (Waed track) and in partnership with the private sector.
