Islamic Development Bank to participate in the fight against the Corona epidemic

President of the Islamic Development Bank Groupand Chairman of the Meetings of Presidents of Multilateral InternationalDevelopment Banks, Dr. Bandar Hajjar emphasized that the multilateraldevelopment banks have followed with great interest the work of the G20 Summitheaded by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz AlSaud which discussed ways to move forward in coordinating global efforts tocombat the economic effects of the Corona pandemic, and to reduce itshumanitarian and economic impacts.

He pointed out that the closing statement ofthe summit dealt with the main risks and threats facing the world that arose asa result of the emergence of the Corona pandemic, which directly affected theglobal economy.

He highlighted efforts in this regard andstated that the international multilateral development banks have moved rapidlysince the outbreak of the epidemic, and held two virtual meetings of the headsof these banks to coordinate their response to the challenges arising from thespread of the epidemic on March 13 and 25, 2020.
