Ministry of Industry conducts 620 inspections of mining sites in July 2026

The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, represented by the Agency for Mining Operations Oversight, conducted 620 regulatory inspections of mining sites across various regions of the Kingdom during July 2026. The inspections aimed to monitor compliance with the Mining Investment Law and to issue warnings when violations were detected, in line with the principle of warning before imposing penalties.

In a statement posted on its X platform account, the ministry explained that the inspections in July included 140 in the Eastern Province, 136 in Riyadh, 99 in Makkah, 63 in Jazan, 40 in Asir, 31 in Tabuk, 30 in Madinah, 20 in Al-Baha, 19 in Qassim, 17 in Hail, 10 in Al-Jouf, 9 in the Northern Borders region, and 6 in Najran.

According to the statement, the ministry emphasized that it will continue to carry out inspections, monitor mining activities, protect the sector from irregular practices, and safeguard mineral resources to ensure their optimal use. It also aims to protect communities near mining areas, in accordance with the regulations of the Mining Investment Law.

The ministry seeks to maximize the value derived from the Kingdom's mineral resources and increase the attractiveness of the mining sector as the third pillar of national industry, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. The sector also aims to boost its contribution to diversifying national income and increasing non-oil revenues. The value of mineral resources in the Kingdom is estimated at around 9.3 trillion riyals (SAR), spread across more than 5,300 sites.
