Improving Communication Services in Grand Mosque in Preparation for Ramadan Season

The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque has expanded the scope of the fifth-generation (5G) network inside the Grand Mosque to cover the well of Zamzam and the basement of the King Fahd expansion.

The increased scope was accomplished with the support of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites as part of the preparation for the month of Ramadan and to improve integration of efforts exerted by all the concerned authorities in serving the visitors during Ramadan season.

The step aims to enhance the efficiency of Zamzam water production by monitoring the water level inside the well, sending data directly to the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Project for Zamzam Water Distribution.

The network will also contribute to improving the quality of transmitting religious lessons and broadcasting them live on the Manarat Al-Haramain digital platform, so that their content reaches various parts of the world.

The General Authority is working to expand the coverage of the network to include the third Saudi expansion in the month of Ramadan, to ensure the best experience for pilgrims, Umrah performers and visitors.
