Gold prices held steady in early Asian trading on Wednesday, poised for a third straight weekly gain as the US dollar weakened and the US Treasury took steps to limit the rise in long-term bond yields.

Spot gold was little changed at $4,514.23 per ounce, after reaching its highest level since early June in the previous session. The precious metal has gained 3.2% so far this week.

US gold futures were also steady at $4,571.20 per ounce.

Among other metals, spot silver prices were unchanged at $68.03 per ounce.
