GASTAT Releases National Statistical Quality Assurance Framework

The General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) has released a Statistical Quality Assurance Framework that establishes principles and standards for collecting, processing, and disseminating official statistics in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The framework is based on the foundational principles of official statistics established by the United Nations and aligns with the UN's Quality Assurance Framework. It also incorporates the regulation of GASTAT in Saudi Arabia.

The Statistical Quality Assurance Framework comprises four key levels: statistical system management, institutional environment management, statistical processes, and statistical products. Within these levels, there are 18 principles that branch out into various standards and methods aimed at maintaining compliance with these principles.

GASTAT has made this framework available on its official website in Arabic and English to facilitate access for statistics professionals, researchers, individuals interested in this field, and government and private institutions.
