Aramco signs SAR 1.04 billion pipe manufacturing deals with Saudi firms

Saudi Aramco has signed two contracts worth a combined SAR 1.04 billion ($277 million) with two Saudi companies specializing in pipe manufacturing, aiming to strengthen the supply of equipment needed for building and repairing oil facilities.

The move follows an attack on the East-West oil pipeline on September 10, prompting the company to take additional measures to ensure operational continuity and protect its infrastructure.

As part of efforts to enhance its operational capabilities, Aramco expanded its partnership in April with Swiss firm Sulzer to supply advanced pumps that support supply stability and transport efficiency.

Regional expansion of oil pipelines

Meanwhile, Kuwait is in talks with Saudi Arabia and the UAE over plans to expand oil transport pipelines, which would allow Kuwaiti crude to be exported via Saudi Arabia’s Yanbu port, as part of regional efforts to strengthen energy security.
