Industry ministry issues over 50,000 certificates of origin in July 2026

The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources issued 50,030 certificates of origin in July 2026, as part of its efforts to support and facilitate services for exporters across industrial, commercial, and individual sectors.

In a statement on its X platform account, the ministry explained that the certificate of origin is a document confirming that exported products are of national origin or have acquired national origin status. The service targets industrial establishments, commercial companies and institutions, as well as individuals including farmers, fishermen, those with individual activities, and local artisans, among others.

The ministry added that there are four types of certificates: a certificate of origin for national products destined for Gulf Cooperation Council countries; a certificate for national products exported to Arab countries; a preferential certificate, which is the unified model for GCC countries when exporting to countries and economic blocs with which free trade agreements have been signed; and a bilingual (Arabic and English) certificate of origin for countries that do not grant preferential treatment (the general model).

Ministry spokesperson Jarrah Al-Jarrah stated that applications for certificates of origin can be submitted through the ministry’s website.
