Energy Ministry conducts over 10,700 inspections in August 2026

The Ministry of Energy reported that its inspection teams conducted 10,746 regulatory visits in August 2026, resulting in the detection of 847 violations of the regulations governing petroleum and petrochemical materials, as well as the distribution of dry gas and liquefied petroleum gas for residential and commercial purposes.

According to an official statement posted on its X account, the ministry said the most prominent violations included conducting petroleum or petrochemical operations without the necessary licenses, selling liquefied petroleum gas cylinders at retail without a permit, failing to comply with approved gas tariffs, transporting and selling petroleum products through unlicensed carriers, and using petroleum materials for unauthorized purposes, in addition to other breaches of the two regulations.

The Ministry of Energy emphasized that these inspection tours are part of its efforts to enhance compliance with regulations and organizational requirements, ensure the security and reliability of petroleum and petrochemical supplies, and improve oversight and supervision of activities under its jurisdiction, thereby helping to curb violations and protect the market.

The ministry urged consumers to report violations by calling the toll-free number (1914), using the "Taqa" partner service app available on Apple and Android stores, or via the national "Tawakkalna" app.

The ministry also confirmed that reports are handled by 20 regulatory branches across the Kingdom, operating around the clock to ensure rapid response, follow-up, and management of emergency cases.
