Saudi Arabia and Syria sign four agreements to boost transport and logistics cooperation

Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistics Services Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser has concluded an official visit to the Syrian Arab Republic, during which four agreements and memorandums of understanding were signed in the fields of roads, railways, civil aviation, and postal services. The agreements aim to strengthen cooperation and exchange expertise between the two countries.

The visit included the signing of two memorandums of understanding on roads and railways between Al-Jasser and his Syrian counterpart, Yarob Badr. These focused on developing joint initiatives and sharing specialized studies and best practices in both sectors.

In the civil aviation sector, Al-Jasser met with Omar Al-Hosari, President of the Syrian Civil Aviation and Air Transport Authority, where an agreement was signed to enhance cooperation and improve air connectivity between Saudi Arabia and Syria.

Al-Jasser also discussed prospects for cooperation in the postal sector with Syrian Minister of Communications and Technology Abdulsalam Haykal. The meeting concluded with the signing of a joint postal agreement.

Strengthening partnership in logistics and border crossings

As part of discussions on the transport and logistics system, Al-Jasser met with Qutaiba Badawi, President of the Syrian General Authority for Crossings and Customs. The two sides discussed border crossings, ports, logistics services, free zones, and ways to facilitate the movement of goods and transport.

The visit concluded with a meeting between Al-Jasser and Ahmad Al-Shar'a, where they reviewed bilateral relations and explored future cooperation in transport and logistics sectors.

The agreements and memorandums of understanding signed during the visit underscore the expanding scope of Saudi-Syrian cooperation in transport and logistics, supporting the development of joint work and the exchange of expertise between both sides.
