Saudi Energy signs project financing deal with Bpifrance in Paris

Saudi Energy has signed a cooperation agreement with Bpifrance to finance the development and expansion of the electricity grid. The deal was inked on the sidelines of the Saudi-French roundtable held in Paris today, coinciding with the visit of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman to France.

The agreement aims to provide competitive financing solutions for the company’s procurement and projects, strengthening Saudi Energy’s ability to implement and expand its investment portfolio.

According to a company statement, the agreement builds on a memorandum of understanding signed by both parties in November 2025, which established a framework for financing facilities to support the company’s procurement program and diversify funding sources for its strategic projects, particularly those related to grid development and stability equipment.

The new cooperation mechanism also involves BNP Paribas bank and HSBC bank as coordinators for the financing process, with efforts to broaden the base of international lenders, thereby enhancing liquidity flexibility for future projects.

Strengthening Saudi-French energy sector cooperation

The agreement also allows for the potential expansion of cooperation to include other French companies in the future. It reflects Saudi Energy’s strategy to leverage international financing tools to support electric infrastructure projects, improve grid reliability, and boost project execution efficiency.

This move is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen joint cooperation between Saudi and French entities across various fields, within the framework of the strategic partnership between the two countries.
