Saudi Arabia has achieved a new global milestone, ranking first worldwide in date exports by value for the fourth consecutive year, according to data from the International Trade Centre. The Kingdom's date exports reached SAR 1.938 billion in 2025, reflecting the growth of the palm and date sector and its role in increasing the agricultural sector's contribution to GDP and supporting the national economy, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Mousa, CEO of the National Center for Palms and Dates, noted that the sector's achievement was made possible by the strong support and attention it receives from the Kingdom's leadership, as well as the collaboration between government entities, the private sector, and other stakeholders. These efforts have developed supply chains, improved export efficiency, and expanded the global reach of Saudi dates.

He added that this national achievement reflects the diversity, quality, and production efficiency of Saudi dates, further strengthening the Kingdom's position in date production and exports and expanding its presence in global retail markets. Al-Mousa highlighted that the "Empowering Saudi Date Exports and Entering Global Markets" initiative was a key factor in this success, helping to broaden the scope of Saudi date exports to many countries worldwide.

Al-Mousa also stated that the number of countries importing Saudi dates has risen to more than 125 worldwide, underscoring growing demand due to their high quality, variety, and ability to meet diverse consumer preferences. He noted that total date production in the Kingdom has exceeded 1.9 million tons, reaffirming Saudi Arabia's leadership in date cultivation and production, with over 37 million palm trees across the country.

The National Center for Palms and Dates continues to develop and enhance the sector through various programs and initiatives aimed at improving the value chain and strengthening the presence of Saudi dates in global markets, positioning them as a model of safe, high-quality food products.
