Arab Cooperation Key to AI Advancement, Says AASTMT President

Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport President Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag underscored the need to enhance Arab and international cooperation in artificial intelligence (AI) through research networks and specialized centers that foster knowledge exchange.

Speaking at the opening session of the Arab Dialogue Circle on Artificial Intelligence in the Arab World: Innovative Applications and Ethical Challenges, held today at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo, Dr. Farag stressed the importance of an ethical and regulatory framework to ensure responsible AI use while safeguarding cultural values, privacy, and security.

He noted that AI is more than just a technology—it is a global endeavor requiring collaboration and the integration of leading minds.

He emphasized that the Arab world must approach AI not only as a tool but as a transformative force shaping economies, societies, and governance.
