Al-Jubeir Highlights Saudi Arabia’s Goal to Be Top Energy Supplier

The Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Cabinet's member, and Climate Affairs Envoy, Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir participated as a speaker in a session titled “Bold Steps for a Sustainable MENA” at the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2024 in Davos, Switzerland.

Al-Jubeir expressed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia advocates for the diversification of energy sources to meet the increasing global demand for energy. He emphasized that the Kingdom aims to become the top exporter of energy, going beyond oil alone.

Al-Jubeir underscored the Kingdom’s commitment to setting standards rather than solely following them, highlighting its role as a responsible member of the international community.

He highlighted the Kingdom’s dedication to collaborating with other countries to reduce emissions and address the challenges of climate change.

Furthermore, Al-Jubeir showcased the Kingdom's comprehensive approach to preserving the environment, protecting the Earth, and mitigating the impacts of climate change.

He also noted the Kingdom’s adoption of a circular economy approach to carbon, afforestation, city redesign and waste recycling.
