Jubail Industrial City launches initiatives to enhance children's wellbeing

Jubail Industrial City continues its efforts to improve children's quality of life through innovative initiatives and comprehensive programs aimed at creating an ideal environment for childhood. The city features nearly 500 dedicated play areas distributed across beaches, parks, and neighborhood gardens, transforming them into open community platforms for family activities and educational events.

Omar Al-Hamad, Head of Social Activities at the Social Services Department of the Royal Commission in Jubail, explained that the Commission adopts a strategy that goes beyond the traditional school framework by providing an environment that integrates education into children's daily lives. This includes activating clubs, libraries, creative workshops, and community and seasonal events that develop children's skills and foster their spirit of innovation, with families playing a key role in shaping children's personalities.

Similarly, the Social Services Department places great emphasis on summer and seasonal events that offer safe and stimulating spaces for children to spend their time. The diverse programs include cultural, heritage, artistic, and sports activities, as well as creative competitions, all designed to strengthen children's connection to their national identity and nurture their talents.

Al-Hamad added that the Royal Commission adopts "universal design" concepts in developing the infrastructure of parks, gardens, and public facilities to ensure equal opportunities for access to wellbeing and to provide safe environments for children. The Commission is also keen to design facilities and programs that consider individual differences and the needs of children with disabilities, promoting values of social inclusion and equality.

Al-Hamad noted that the Royal Commission integrates technology into its approach through smart platforms and applications that make it easier for children and their families to access services and events. These tools enable registration, active participation, and access to necessary information, positively impacting the flexibility and convenience of the family experience.
