Buraidah Date Carnival exports reach over 70 countries via air freight

Logistics services at the Buraidah International Date Carnival are serving as a vital link between Saudi producers and global markets, with air freight now reaching more than 70 countries, alongside a transport network covering all regions of the Kingdom and over 100 cities and provinces.

The integrated system of transport, shipping, packaging, and distribution supports the movement of dates within the carnival, offering comprehensive logistics solutions aimed at improving supply chain efficiency and maintaining product quality and safety throughout preparation, transport, and distribution stages.

Shipping operations begin in the early hours of the day in tandem with market activity, as specialized companies receive consignments prepared for transport and process them according to operational and regulatory procedures tailored to the nature of each shipment and its destination, before dispatching them in equipped vehicles as part of ongoing logistics operations linking the carnival to various markets.

Khalid Al-Naqidan, Secretary-General of the Supreme Committee and CEO of the Buraidah International Date Carnival, stated that the logistics and supply chain system at the carnival enjoys the support and attention of the Governor of Al-Qassim Region and his deputy, as part of efforts to enhance the efficiency of the region’s date sector and boost marketing channels and access to different markets.

He noted that the integration of transport and shipping services is a key factor in supporting the date trade and expanding its marketing reach, adding that transport services cover all 13 regions of the Kingdom and extend to more than 100 cities and provinces, facilitating faster delivery of products to markets and consumers.

He added that the transport network also reaches Gulf Cooperation Council countries via land freight, while air freight services enable dates to reach more than 70 countries worldwide, opening broader international markets for Saudi products and enhancing their competitive presence.

Shipping options at the carnival include standard and express delivery, as well as refrigerated and frozen shipping, in addition to land and air transport, providing multiple solutions tailored to the nature of the products and the requirements of each shipment and destination.

Logistics service providers at the carnival handle more than 600 shipments daily, keeping pace with the growing commercial activity in the market, reflecting the significant role logistics play in accelerating the date trade cycle and connecting it to markets.

Logistics activities are not limited to product movement; during the carnival season, they also provide opportunities for young people to participate in loading, preparation, coordination, and support services, enhancing operational efficiency at designated transport and shipping sites.
