Saudi Arabia to unveil first Ceer electric vehicles globally in 2026

Ceer, Saudi Arabia’s national automotive company, is preparing to launch its first flagship electric vehicles globally on September 21, 2026. The international launch event will feature both sedan and SUV models, marking a major milestone in the Kingdom’s automotive industry development.

Ceer CEO James DeLuca described 2026 as the “Year of Ceer,” expressing anticipation for the debut of the company’s first flagship vehicles. He highlighted the journey from advanced design and engineering to the rapid construction of one of the world’s most advanced manufacturing facilities.

Ceer is the first Saudi brand for automotive and original technology equipment manufacturing in the Kingdom. The company handles vehicle design, engineering, testing, manufacturing, sales, and after-sales services within Saudi Arabia.

Founded in 2022 as a joint venture between the Public Investment Fund and Foxconn, Ceer has focused on building an ecosystem that combines Saudi talent with global expertise since its inception.

Ceer’s workforce has grown from 20 employees at launch to 2,300, alongside forging strategic partnerships with global and local companies, including BMW, Hyundai Transys, Rimac, and Siemens, as well as other firms in automotive, technology, and manufacturing sectors.

Through these partnerships, Ceer aims to boost local content to 45% by 2034, supporting the creation of a domestic industrial base for the electric vehicle sector.

According to the company’s announced targets, Ceer is expected to contribute around 30 billion riyals (SAR, approximately $8 billion) to Saudi Arabia’s GDP, and improve the trade balance by about 80 billion riyals (around $21 billion).

The company also aims to create around 30,000 direct and indirect jobs, with Saudis making up 80% of direct employment, reinforcing the project’s role in supporting local hiring, content, and economic diversification.

Ceer also supports the Saudi Green Initiative’s goal for the Kingdom to achieve net-zero emissions by 2060, by advancing the domestic electric vehicle industry.
