The International Monetary Fund has stated that Saudi Arabia’s economy has demonstrated resilience in the face of recent geopolitical tensions in the region.

This assessment was included in the IMF’s Article IV consultation report with the Kingdom for 2026, which noted that Vision 2030 has led a decade of economic transformation and boosted non-oil sector growth, according to Al Ekhbariya.

The report also highlighted that Saudi Arabia has ample access to both domestic and international debt markets, and that the Kingdom’s non-oil primary deficit is expected to decline to 23.3% of non-oil GDP in 2025, down from 24.5% in 2024.

It added that non-performing loans in Saudi banks are projected to fall to 1% in 2025, the lowest level since 2009.

The report further noted that Saudi Arabia is a global leader in adopting artificial intelligence across various sectors, and that AI could boost the Kingdom’s real GDP growth by up to 6% over the next decade.
