AI technologies lead growth in Saudi commercial registrations

The Ministry of Commerce has reported a rise in commercial registrations across promising sectors identified in Saudi Vision 2030, with computer programming, information, and communications activities leading this growth, coinciding with the Year of Artificial Intelligence.

According to the ministry's report, artificial intelligence technologies topped the growth rates among emerging sectors, recording a 31% increase and reaching 24,552 commercial registrations.

Logistics services saw a 25% growth rate, with 32,154 registrations, while creative, arts, and entertainment activities also grew by 25%, totaling 8,650 commercial registrations.

The electronic gaming industry experienced a 24% rise, reaching 977 registrations. Cybersecurity also recorded a 22% increase, with 11,275 commercial registrations.

Virtual and augmented reality technologies saw a 21% growth rate, reaching 13,853 registrations, while amusement and gaming cities grew by 16%, totaling 9,483 commercial registrations.

Financial and insurance activities posted a 12% growth rate, with 16,950 registrations. E-commerce reached 52,241 registrations, up by 9%.

The ministry noted that the total number of commercial registrations in the Kingdom has surpassed 1.9 million, including 1.3 million for sole proprietorships, 599,000 for limited liability companies, and 5,000 for joint stock companies.
