The Saudi Agricultural and Livestock Investment Company (SALIC), a subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund, has announced the full transfer of ownership of the National Grains Company to the Saudi National Grains Supply Company (SABL). The announcement was made during a ceremony at the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture headquarters in Riyadh, attended by Minister Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadley, who also chairs SALIC’s board.

The transfer follows SALIC’s acquisition of the remaining 50 percent stake in the National Grains Company, aiming to enhance integration between its local investments and support the resilience of Saudi Arabia’s grain supply chains.

Strengthening the grain and feed sector

Through this move, SABL’s capabilities in managing the strategic wheat reserve and its national network of silos and storage facilities will be combined with the National Grains Company’s expertise in sourcing grains from international markets, its specialization in grains and feed inputs, and its established local commercial presence.

This integration is expected to expand the range of grains and commodities covered by SABL, boost its ability to meet local market needs, and reinforce its role within the Kingdom’s grain and feed sector.

Part of SALIC’s broader strategy

This step aligns with SALIC’s strategy to link its local and international investments. In July 2026, the company announced the integration of Continental Farmers Group into Olam Agri to strengthen its global supply capabilities. The transfer of the National Grains Company to SABL extends this approach domestically, connecting global supply with local logistics and commercial capacities.

The National Grains Company will continue to operate as a wholly owned, independent legal entity under SABL. Both companies will work within an integrated national system for grains and feed inputs to support supply continuity and contribute to Saudi Arabia’s food security goals and Vision 2030.
