Ministry of Energy conducts 9,263 inspections, records 964 violations in July

The Ministry of Energy’s inspection teams conducted 9,263 regulatory visits in July 2026, resulting in the detection of 964 violations of the petroleum and petrochemical materials systems, as well as the distribution of dry gas and liquefied petroleum gas for residential and commercial purposes.

Key violations included conducting petroleum or petrochemical operations without the necessary licenses from the ministry, selling liquefied petroleum gas cylinders at retail without authorization, transporting and selling petroleum products through unlicensed carriers, and using petroleum products for unauthorized purposes, in addition to other breaches of the relevant regulations.

These inspection campaigns are part of the Ministry of Energy’s efforts to enhance compliance with regulatory requirements, ensure the security and reliability of petroleum and petrochemical supplies, and improve oversight of activities under its supervision, thereby reducing illegal practices and protecting the market.

The ministry urged consumers to report any concerns related to the enforcement of these regulations by contacting the Beneficiary Service Center at the toll-free number (1914), through the “Taqa” partner service app available on Apple and Android stores, or via the national “Tawakkalna” app.

It confirmed that reports are handled by 20 inspection branches across the Kingdom, operating around the clock to ensure rapid response, follow-up, and management of emergency cases.
