Date festival opens today in Rawdah, Hail region

Under the patronage of Hail Governor Abdulaziz bin Saad bin Abdulaziz, the Rawdah Date Festival 2026 opens today, Sunday, around 80 kilometers south of Hail. Organized by the regional branch of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, the five-day event is held at Al-Rayan Hall, with 68 participants including 40 date producers and 28 representatives from productive families, food processing industries, and beekeepers, in cooperation with several government and private sector entities.

The festival aims to boost investment opportunities for Rawdah’s farmers in date products, attract more buyers, encourage the date production and processing sector, support farmers and job seekers, and create employment opportunities for youth.

Festival activities include a wide display of date varieties and products, along with offerings from productive families, food processing industries, and related local goods. Beekeepers are also participating, showcasing their honey products.

The festival also features traditional heritage through handicraft booths, highlighting various crafts and traditional industries, introducing visitors to inherited artisanal skills and production methods. Local dishes will be served, reflecting the region’s culinary heritage and showcasing the diversity of traditional foods.

By presenting agricultural, artisanal, and food products, the festival supports local goods, empowers productive families, highlights Rawdah’s agricultural and cultural heritage, and promotes economic and tourism activity in the region.
