Municipalities Ministry launches contractor qualification service via Balady Aamal platform

The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing has launched a contractor qualification service for the municipal sector through the "Balady Aamal" platform. The initiative aims to enable contracting firms to meet qualification requirements and obtain accreditation according to unified standards, thereby improving the efficiency of service providers and boosting their readiness to execute municipal projects and tasks.

The ministry explained that the service organizes the contractor qualification process, starting from fulfilling regulatory and technical requirements, moving through the evaluation of the firm based on quality and operational readiness standards, and culminating in accreditation for targeted municipal services and fields.

The ministry noted that qualification requirements include holding a valid commercial registration and municipal license, obtaining the necessary classification certificate and memberships, having qualified technical staff and experience, and completing all required data and documents via the "Balady Aamal" platform.

The ministry confirmed that the service adopts unified evaluation standards to verify the efficiency, reliability, and readiness of firms, as well as their ability to execute works and provide municipal services in line with approved technical and professional requirements.

Corrective period until June 2027

The ministry indicated that contracting firms have been granted a corrective grace period until June 30, 2027, to complete the qualification and accreditation requirements, urging firms to take advantage of the period and promptly finalize the necessary procedures through the platform.

It added that qualification enables firms to prepare for work in targeted municipal services and fields, raising the quality of executed projects and the efficiency of service delivery to beneficiaries.

The service is available electronically via the "Balady Aamal" platform, where firms can complete their data, upload the required documents, and track the qualification process until accreditation is granted.
