Deputy minister of commerce meets business leaders and investors in Al-Jouf

Deputy Minister of Commerce and CEO of the Saudi Center for Competitiveness and Business, Dr. Iman bint Hibbas Al-Mutairi, met today with business leaders and investors in the Al-Jouf region.

During the meeting, held at the Al-Jouf Chamber of Commerce in the presence of several senior officials from the commerce sector, she discussed proposals and challenges facing the business community and investors, as well as opportunities and enablers for developing various sectors.

She noted that the business sector in Al-Jouf has grown in recent years, with the number of commercial registrations exceeding 21,800. She added that services provided by the Ministry of Commerce and the regional branch of the Saudi Center for Competitiveness and Business in Al-Jouf have helped facilitate business startup and operations in the region.

Al-Mutairi highlighted efforts to improve the business environment through the review and development of more than 110 regulations, including laws on companies, commercial registration, trade names, franchising, e-commerce, and anti-concealment, among others.

She also addressed over 1,000 economic and developmental reforms and recommendations that have improved the business environment for both traditional and e-commerce sectors, strengthened competitiveness, and enhanced the business climate in partnership with 80 government entities, local and foreign businesses, and international organizations.

Al-Mutairi added that the Saudi Center for Competitiveness and Business, through its "Business Platform" and 21 physical branches in 16 cities and provinces across the Kingdom, offers more than 4,800 services through a "single window." Since its establishment, it has provided over 20 million services to the business sector and investors. The investor journey has seen the review of 3,962 procedures, the design of 268 investor journeys, the reclassification of 2,800 economic activities, and the introduction of 618 instant licenses.

During the meeting, she also discussed the growth of the e-commerce sector in the Kingdom, efforts to empower and support small and medium enterprises, and the promotion of an entrepreneurial culture.

The deputy minister also held a meeting with members of the Al-Jouf Chamber, where she reviewed the chamber's projects and future plans, and its role in developing the business and investment sectors in the region.

Dr. Iman Al-Mutairi also visited the local branch of the Ministry of Commerce and the Saudi Center for Competitiveness and Business in Al-Jouf, accompanied by Assistant Minister of Commerce Abdulaziz Al-Duhaim and several senior officials. She reviewed work processes, services provided to business owners and investors, and the facilitation of starting and operating businesses in the region.

She honored a group of outstanding male and female employees in business services and commercial supervision, urging continued efforts to deliver high-quality services to the business sector and consumers.
