Ministry of Industry processes 1,274 customs exemption requests in June 2026

As part of its efforts to promote local industry and enhance global competitiveness, the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources announced it processed 1,274 requests for industrial customs exemption in June 2026, granting national industrial facilities exemptions from customs duties on their imported production inputs.

Spokesperson Jarrah bin Mohammed Al-Jarrah stated on his official X account that the processed exemption requests covered 4,662 items of raw materials and 13,974 items of machinery, equipment, and spare parts. He noted that the customs exemption service is one of several incentives and enablers provided by the industry and mining system to facilitate the journey of industrial investors at every stage, from concept to empowerment, production, and export.

Al-Jarrah added that the industrial customs exemption service aligns with the goals of the National Industrial Strategy to empower and develop Saudi Arabia’s industrial sector, highlighting the ministry’s key role in accelerating the growth of the national industrial base. He explained that industrial facilities can obtain customs exemptions quickly through streamlined procedures on the ministry’s digital platform, "Sanaei."

The Ministry of Industry aims, through the customs exemption service, to support and encourage local factories, develop national production sectors, reduce production costs, and create new industrial opportunities. The service allows licensed industrial facilities to obtain customs exemptions on imports of machinery, equipment, spare parts, raw materials, semi-manufactured materials, and packaging materials directly required for production.
