China, US discuss reducing some tariffs, official says

A Chinese official has confirmed that Beijing is in discussions with the United States over reducing some tariffs.

He added that China is maintaining close contact with the US regarding the joint trade council, according to Al Arabiya.

The official noted that in February, the US Supreme Court overturned most of the comprehensive tariffs previously imposed. A day later, US President Donald Trump announced an immediate increase in global tariffs on goods imported into the United States from 10% to 15%.
