Gulftainer Lines launches IGS shipping service at Dammam’s King Abdulaziz Port

The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has announced the addition of the Intro Gulf Service (IS), operated by Gulftainer Lines, to King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam. The move aims to strengthen the competitiveness of Saudi ports on the global maritime map, support the smooth flow of international trade, and enhance operational efficiency.

Mawani stated on its X platform account that the new shipping service will connect King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam with key regional ports, including Sharjah Port and Umm Qasr Port, before returning to Dammam. The service offers a capacity of up to 550 standard containers.

The authority added that this initiative is part of its efforts to improve Saudi Arabia’s ranking in global performance indicators, supporting the movement of national exports in line with the goals of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy to establish the Kingdom as a global logistics hub and a link between three continents.

King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam plays a vital role in connecting Saudi Arabia to the global economy and features advanced infrastructure and integrated facilities that attract major international companies. The port has 43 fully equipped berths and a handling capacity of up to 105 million tons of cargo and containers.
