At the request of Saudi Arabia, President of the Islamic Summit, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will hold, next Sunday, a virtual emergency ministerial meeting of the Organization's Executive Committee to discuss the Israeli attacks in the Palestinian Territory, especially in Al-Quds Al-Sharif, and the acts of violence being committed by Israel in the vicinity of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Israel bombarded Gaza with artillery and air strikes on Friday in response to a new barrage of rocket fire from the Hamas-run enclave, but stopped short of a ground offensive in the conflict that has now claimed more than 100 Palestinian lives.
